I want to congratulate you on a very good research paper on the LeROYs.
I was glad to find so much information and I was able to update the information I already have. It is nice to see information that doesn’t cost money to obtain.
Most of the information is in public domain anyway.
I am a descendant of the LeROYs. My sixth time grandfather is Jean Roy dit Laliberte.
Apparently, the “Le” was dropped after Claude, Jean’s father.
Thanks again.
Take care.

What a wonderful website you have! So much information is contained in all of your pages. It's so easy to get lost in it.
It looks like we are related through Simon Leroy and Whyntje/Lavinia Jaycocks. I believe that they are my 4th g-grandparents. You are descended from their son William. While I am descended from their son Henry.
Have you had any luck in find a birth record for William in New Brunswick or elsewhere? I've tried New Brunswick and Nova Scotia for Simon and Lavinia's children born in those provinces. So far no luck.
I have found a book "The History of Argenteuil and Prescott Counties" that states that Simon had 3 sons, William, Henry and George (Simon). So far that is the only concrete documentation that I have of the relationship between the father and the sons.
I would look forward to hearing from you and sharing what information that I have on the Leroy family.

I found your website http://leroy-quebec.weebly.com/ while searching for ancestors of Robert (Roger) Le Roy. It is very interesting and informative, however, I am still trying to figure out how Macbeth is tied to the LeRoy line.
Robert (Roger) Le Roy is my 22nd Great Grandfather, so I would guess we are cousins.
My Roy side came from Fall River Ma. And before that from Quebec, Canada and prior to that France.
I have not really had any problem getting back to Robert, but going back any farther it gets confusing.
According to what I have is that Macbeth married Bethoc Atholl in 1054, but in searching the web, I cannot see anywhere that he married anyone other than Gruoch, and they had no children themselves, other than Gruoch’s son Lulach.
On Ancestry.com all I see is that Macbeth and Bethoc had a son named Undweyn Maccus deNorseman, which is the same one as your simple tree. I want to know how Undweyn Maccus deNorseman is connected to Mabeth.
I’m looking for any help you have, so I can finally say that I’m related to Macbeth.
Thanks in advance,

My maternal grandmother was by marriage, a LeRoy.
I attempted to trace the LeRoys back as far as possible and came to the same general conclusion that you have, they were from Brittany and prior to that Scotland..
I'm not sure if any were les Filles du Roi, depends when they immigrated to Quebec...but that might be an avenue for you to pursue.
At one point when I lived in Michigan in 1997, I met some LeRoys and was invited to their family reunion to determine if we were related.
Didn't seem like we were.
They stated there were 13 old line LeRoy families in Quebec.
My mother and I never knew much about her mother and grandmother, Pearl Anna Leroy nee Sicard.
Her father was a blacksmith and the family lived on the west coast of Michigan.
A few years fter birthing 5 children, Olympia Sicord , aged 25, died. It appears that my maternal grandfather LeRoy entrusted the children's care to a local doctor who perhaps had an orphanage (?).
I did connect with Pearl's older brother Albert's granddaughter but he didn't say much either, except the story of being given to the doctor.
That is all I know in a nutshell...
Best Wishes on finding more of your family's stories.

I was reading this in English, and was puzzled by
“François served trades master glazier and painter, always at Fontenay-le-Comte and around and he knows sign.”
“As for his brother Jacques, he was also master glazier and also knows sign.”
Then I found the French blog this was translated from, and it all became clear. A better translation is:
François served trades master glazier and painter, always at Fontenay-le-Comte and around and he knows how to sign his name.
As for his brother Jacques, he was also master glazier and also knows how to sign his name.

My son and my two grandsons are direct descendants of Jean Roy/LeRoy dit Laliberté who came to Acadie in 1671. They share an ancestor with you, Mathurin LeRoy married to Jeanne Pestel. I was able to look up the archives on the web and I confirmed some baptisms and marriages for our LeRoy ancestors. The website I consulted is
http://archives-en-ligne.ille-et-vilaine.fr/thot_internet/FrmSommaireFrame.asp
Here is what I found:
The names of Jehan LeRoy dit Daulphin's parents were not mentioned in the baptism record. Since you mention these ancestors on your website, I wonder if you have seen some proof that Jehan LeRoy dit Daulphin is really the son of Thierry LeRoy and Blanche de Flavy?
Congratulations for your great website.
